We support investigators as they integrate sophisticated genomic experiments and bioinformatics analyses into their work.

Services include microarray, next generation sequencing, bioinformatics analysis, and genomics/bioinformatics educational courses and workshops.

We also offer courses and workshops for those who want to build their computational skills.

RFA 2018 Core Coins funding

For the 2018-2019 fiscal year, the ECGC has been awarded Core Coins support for projects that integrate measurements across different sequencing modalities, either by collecting multiple data types or using publicly available data to supplement data generated by ECGC.

The purpose of this RFA is to solicit projects that can leverage the range of services offered by the ECGC. A successful application would include project designs that can benefit from integration of laboratory and analytical methods across different genomic measurement modalities, such as RNAseq, ChIPseq, whole exome, whole genome sequencing, or methylation assessment; the funds can also be used to support analysis of publicly available datasets relevant to the project. Support for new users, junior faculty, faculty needing preliminary data for grants and applicants who have defined public datasets will be prioritized.

Two to three projects will be awarded up to $12,500 in funding allocated from the $25,000 Core Coins award. Investigators meeting the criteria of the RFA will be awarded what they request, unless the experiment or analysis are deemed unnecessary or out of scope of the project.

  • Project Title.
  • One page, or less, description of your project, resembling an NIH Specific Aims page that should include a brief account of relevant background, the goal and hypotheses, specific aims and brief account of methodologies, and a brief statement of how this “Core Coins” funding will advance your research. The application must describe a set of experiments and analyses that will truly enhance the value of their dataset, asking questions that could not be addressed with only one sequencing modality.
